Experience the world renowned Ugandan hospitality amidst unrivaled nature, scenery and serenity in the heart of Kibale rainforest National Park, Uganda’s primates’ paradise and home to over 13 different species of primates and numerous other mammals, butterflies and birds. Primate Lodge Kibale’s principal edge is our location, tucked deep in the forest and right next door to the starting point for Chimpanzee tracking excursion as well as the incredible Chimpanzee Habituation, really, two of the most genuinely breath-taking wildlife experiences on the planet.

All of our nine spacious and en-suite Luxury Cottages, each secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural ‘living in nature’ feel, come complete with 2x Double size Bed or 1x King Size Bed, a sitting area with two comfortable arm chairs, a reading table and an adjoining large veranda with excellent views to the forest. The seven mid-level Forest Cottages are private and en-suite with spacious bathrooms, 2x Twin size Beds or 1x King Size Bed as well as a spacious veranda over-looking the rain-forest with lounge chairs. The popular double storied ‘Elephant Banda’ has an upstairs bedroom fitted with a giant King size Bed and a downstairs living room where we can also place a smaller extra bed. As a double occupancy, it is very popular with honeymooners, anniversaries and the ‘hopeless romantics’ who can also enjoy private lounging and dining at the extensive upstairs veranda that seems to go right into the forest.

Other lodge amenities include a spacious dining terrace, a well-stocked bar, complimentary room service, a secluded lounge area with a small library, an evening camp fire, laundry service (at a small fee) as well as free WiFi in the public areas.

Staying at Primate Lodge Uganda was one of the most magical and memorable experiences of my entire trip. Nestled right inside the Kibale National Park, this lodge gives you the rare opportunity to sleep in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by the sounds of nature and under a sky full of stars. The staff were absolutely exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of their extended family. Every detail, from the welcome drinks to the turn-down service, was carried out with care and hospitality. The rooms (or more accurately, beautiful cottages) are comfortable, stylish, and perfectly integrated into the natural environment. You wake up to the calls of chimpanzees and the rustling of the forest—it’s like nature’s own alarm clock! The lodge runs in harmony with the ecosystem, making it not only a luxurious stay, but also an eco-conscious one. The food was absolutely delicious—freshly prepared, locally sourced, and served with love. Every meal felt like a homemade feast, and they easily catered to different dietary preferences. What truly sets this place apart is its location: just steps away from the starting point of chimpanzee trekking. No long drive needed—you’re already there! After the trek, you come back to a warm shower, friendly smiles, and a peaceful jungle ambience to unwind in.

Incredible place to stay for nature lovers. Service was outstanding, they clean your shoes and do laundry at no extra cost. Innocence (spelling?) was so attentive to our needs. Drinks were included with meals which were excellent. One of the staff gave us a guided walk through the forest showing us various plants used for medicine and those that were poisonous. You are truly in the rain forest. At night I woke up needing to go to the toilet and thought I was blind, it was pitch black and I could not see my hands in front of me. Then I opened the curtains and saw a glimmer of light in the sky. Next night I kept the flashlight next to me. This is 5 minutes to where the chimpanzee station is for the morning walk. It only took 5 minutes to spot numerous chimpanzees. I was surprised there was only one other couple staying there. This was the best lodge we stayed at in Uganda.

One of the best lodges in Uganda, no doubt. Flawless service, great food and attention to detail. 5min walk away from chimps tracking. Having breakfast while a troop of baboons strolls around was amazing. Rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated, and with all the amenities you might need. 100% would come back again in a future visit to Uganda.

This is a very high end lodge. Service is super. Rooms are luxurious and spacious besides being very clean. They also provide a hairdryer. Food is exquisite. It is also conveniently situated 5 minutes on foot from the chimpanzee tracking starting point. Pity we only stayed for 1 night. Price is all inclusive when on full board of all sorts of drinks and laundry service which is very efficient. They also clean your shoes after the tracking experience. A big well done to all. Highly recommended.
