Simba Safari Camp, renowned for excellent hospitality, is nestled atop a hill overlooking Lake Kikorongo on the edge of Uganda’s most popular Queen Elizabeth National Park (QE), with panoramic views across the park’s extensive savannah plains teeming with wildlife as well as Lakes George and the famed Kazinga Channel. It is the closest accommodation to QE’s Kasenyi plains on the edge of Lake George, the famed mating grounds for the Uganda Kobs and thus the most preferred area for game viewing drives. It is also closest to the other areas of northern Queen Elizabeth National Park, including the Mweya Peninsula and the Kazinga Channel; well known for launch cruises, close range game-viewing as well as bird-viewing. There is also an opportunity to go for guided chimpanzees tracking in Kyambura Gorge.
In December 2008 Simba Safari Camp opened her doors in one of the most frequently visited parks in Uganda. The comfortable and low budget safari accommodation is located right on the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park and only two kilometers from the Equator.
More and more travellers are discovering this amazing safari camp with competitive prices and a fantastic location. One part is overlooking the scenic crater lakes and plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, while on the other side the high peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains stand out against the horizon.
Simba Safari Camp has a total capacity of 70 beds including family cottages, twin rooms and dormitories. A variety of meals and drinks are served in the restaurant with an adjacent bar and sitting area. Moreover, for conservation purposes we invite our guests to plant a tree that will be nourished and carry your name into eternity…

a month agoWe had a great stay at Simba! The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely overlooking the pool area. The food and drinks were great and the bar, lounge and restaurant area is a large spot great for relaxing and dining. Monkeys run around playing and the camp is so close to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Overall it was a great stay!

6 months agoWow!!!!!! Oh my goodness, I believe I owe Simba lodge & the Great Lakes collection team a huge thank you. Firstly, the service and condition at Simba was outstanding. Everybody is so accommodating and super friendly and approachable. The food was amazing !!!!!! I genuinely believe the beef was some of the best I have ever eaten. Lastly, the customer service and care for clients is outrageously high. To say I had a little accident (that was totally my fault) and was supported is an understatement in the least. The staff and managers at Simba and the Great Lakes collection team stayed and cared for me for a Total of 7 hours ! So on behalf of me and Oli, Thank you to everybody at Simba and the Great Lakes Collection. I will 1000% be returning and visiting more camps ! To anyone on the fence about Uganda or Simba please I promise it worth every single second and penny. Everyone should experience this beautiful country.

a year agoThis was a great place! The staff were attentive. Laundry was done quickly and smelled so nice! My only real complaint was the heat. The rooms were muggy and HOT despite windows being open. There was a marked difference from outside. The pool was a very welcomed relief. Being on the edge of Queen Elizabeth Park meant quick and easy access to the park with excellent security.

2 years agoIt was a beautiful lodge situated very close to the entrance of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The room were well equipped with mosquito nest, clean towels (including for the pool) and a fan. The staff was dedicated to give us the best experience and the food was very good. The only point to know is there is only wifi in the restaurant. Otherwise, I had a great stay with Simba Safari Camp, many thanks!
