beautiful place for a retreat. Has modern and cozy huts overlooking the beautiful beach. You'll most likely have the beach pretty much to yourself. Kayaks for rent and the friendly owner speaks english which was very helpful. Stop by for a drink, the staff is great.

The Dakosta Eco Retreat team is simply amazing! Their hospitality, attention to detail, and warm, welcoming nature made me feel completely at home. Every single person there is incredible, and the experience they provide is truly unforgettable. And the food? Absolutely out of this world! If you’re looking for a true piece of heaven, I highly recommend Dakosta Eco Retreat. Here, you can immerse yourself in breathtaking beaches, untouched nature, and the warmth of the local people. It’s an experience like no other! Thank you to the entire team for making this journey so special! ❤️✨ #dakostaecoretreat #paradise #guineabissau #unforgettableexperience

Not convinced of this place. The location is amazing, but the staff is not fully reliable and the place is not well organised. Also too expensive for what it is. They are stingy on food when it is included, eg last breakfast on our departure day were just a few fruits. They also overcharge on drinks and don’t clearly communicate what is included when. Overall no good value for money.

I don’t have enough words to thank Dakosta for welcoming us when me and my friends were a kind of lost in Bubaque without a place to spend the weekend. Even without the “hotel” officially opened and “finished” (they were doing a renovation), we had an amazing time and the place is becoming a little pearl in the middle of this unknown paradise - the Bijagós. Last but not least, Dakosta and his team were so friendly and kind. We shared lovely and wonderful moments. I absolutely recommend it. We hope to come back soon!

Before I write a review I want to note that I am an African-American so there are cultural differences and we visited in May which I heard was a low season. First off, I was visiting with an African Ancestry group and I am not multilingual so I was limited by my tour guide due to language. Second, It’s a 2-4 hr boat ride to get there off the coast of Bissau. The boat ride wasn’t bad. I usually get sea sick but I was ok on this. Third, I hate to say but as an American I showed my true colors. Electricity and running water was only available from about 16:00 - 04:00. There were no screens in the windows and no A/C in the room. No internet available to communicate back home. Also mind you, I went here after being in Bissau for 5 days so I was close to my wits end. Lastly, I will say the place was BEAUTIFUL. Air was fresh, and the food was AMAZING. I did some boxing with Imany too. If I was more culturally attune with what to expect I would have had a better time. Since then I’ve tried to not be so reliant on technology but I also was there away from my wife and kids. Will I go back? Yes.
