I am Jiwe and with Jiwe’s Swahili Kitchen I want to share my love for cooking with you and invite you to get an impression of homecooked Zanzibari food.

We each had a fish curry here which was absolutely delicious and great value too. The service was great and the only complaint I have is that it was so quiet. I wish more people knew it was here as it’s slightly difficult to find, set back from the beach. I definitely recommend eating here!
SUCH A GOOD RESTAURANT! The atmosphere is really nice at night, the music is great, the people are sweet and the chef is amazing. Also: order the dessert „katasha“ if you like sweet stuff and want to try something new, it is SO GOOD!
Fantastic restaurant. We are vegetarian and Jiwe's was the only place that we saw that had so many options. Everything we got was amazing - veggie curry, Maharage bean stew, Biriani. They provided complimentary chapatis for our kids and even provided local desert. Great ambiance with excellent music, lighting. Highly recommended just a short walk from the beach!
Food is really tasty.
For us the portions were a bit small (meat) but we enjoyed the food, just ordered a bit more.
Takes a while tho for the food to be served.
We were lured here by a high Google rating but sadly this might be the worst dining experience we had in Zanzibar.
Worst octopus I have tried in my whole life. It was so gummy that basically uneatable – 90% of it was left on the plate. I was literally mad as I have serious remorse whenever we order octopus because I admire this very intelligent creature. It is a shame that one animal had to die for this total waste.
My dish was quite tasty but there were literally three prawns in it which is a joke considering the price.
You will have to wait quite a long time for your food here, but this is common in Zanzibar.
