Best meal I ate in Zambia! Loved the cassava nshima, grilled bream, and local greens! There were certainly a fair amount of flies competing for my meal, but I get it, the food was great!
Do expect to be there for awhile. They aren’t kidding when they say it’ll take 30-45 minutes for your meal to arrive. It’ll take another bit of time to get your bill. Well worth it for the food and experience.
If you want to treat yourself and your loved ones to some authentic, delicious Zambian food, then Mpoto Yathu is the place for you. Their services are great, and their food is so fresh thank you, Mpoto Yathu, y'all are amazing!!
Food and drinks where excellent only 2 issues that need to be addressed.
1.The time for food to come to table, 45 mins is long....
2. The number of staff needs to be increased. We had to wait long to get the bill n pay...
Overall I can give it a solid 7.
If those 2 are addressed I'm up to give a 10....
Mpoto Yatu is a lunchtime gem, offering diverse, well-crafted dishes that won't break the bank. The food, whether local or international, is full of flavor and expertly prepared. The restaurant is budget-friendly without compromising on quality.
It's important to note that Mpoto Yatu primarily serves lunch and closes afterward, so plan your visit accordingly. Despite this limitation, the restaurant is a must-visit for a delicious and affordable dining experience.

3 months agoOne of the best Zambian food restaurant in Lusaka. Good steaks with good Nshima. Many drinks with well desciplined service.
