6 months agoAbsolutely love the atmosphere, so calm and elegant. Music was soft and sonorous, and the staff were so cautious, helpful and highly knowledgeable about the menu. Food tasty okay… not awesome, and definitely not at part with the price point. Milkshake was also just okay. Most ideal for date night, casual meeting and intimate gatherings. Parking is quite limited. Wheelchair accessibility can be improved. Overall 7/10 experience, not bad AT ALL.

5 months agoFirst off why are their menu booklet so big . It was uncomfortable to hold and did not even have the item prices on it. I had to scan the QR code and check from my phone (this allowed me see the meal prices as well). Don’t like the sitting arrangements here as well. The tables are so close together that you won’t have to invite the person on the next table to join in the conversation even if you are speaking in low tones. I get that they are trying to utilize the space they have but I would very much like to have a conversation without the person on the next table hearing all I have to say. My advice, skip the appetizer. The meal portions are good enough to not need an appetizer, you might just end up packing the rest to go. Which is not a bad idea if you don’t mind. I hated the dumplings 👎🏽 the presentation was worse than the taste. Dear slice, spring onions are meant to be a garnish not a whole salad, because tel me why I had to dig through spring onions and a bath tub of chilli sauce (that wasn’t even spicy enough) to get to that god forbid dumpling. It was like eating rice paper stuffed with protein. It wasn’t even shaped like a regular dumpling, looking like flattened spring rolls. It was very bland. I know dumplings aren’t supposed to be overly seasoned but why does it taste like I’m eating meat and paper. Do better please. Now to the good part. Slice has amazing cocktails and mock-tails. Plus the names are hilarious. The “cum with me” is a sweet drink with hints of coconut, pineapple and lime juice The I’ve got my mojo is also sweet but stronger and smoky with a sourish aftertaste. The Mojito passion fruit was also sweet. I liked the twist. For a stronger drink the Macallan rob roy was perfect. Favour, one of the waitresses helped making picking items from their menu easier. She answered all questions I had and explained certain meals on the menu to the best of her knowledge. Amazing human. The plum and blackberry sauce for the grilled duck breast with black berry vermouth is really sweet. I liked it with the duck and the sweet potato mash. The sweet potato mash wasn’t as sweet as I thought it would be with was good. It had a nice herby taste to it. Adding a bit of black pepper to it made me enjoy it more The herb seared salmon fillet also tasted really good, it was not over cooked and still had the nice pink inside. The bathroom was clean and they have clean hand towels to wipe your hands after washing them, then a basket under the sink to toss the used towel into. Not sure I noticed a hand dryer. The nature theme they have going on is nice, it gives the whole space an airy, natural vibe. There’s space outside the restaurant for about 4 or 5 cars, so I’m guessing extra cars might have to park on the road. Overall it was an 7.9/10 experience for me with the pros outweighing the cons.

11 months agoSlice is a an upscale restaurant in Victoria Island. I particularly love the aesthetics of the restaurant but I’d have loved a little more lighting though. It’s perfect for group outings and the bar can serve for bar hopping. I had the baked grouper fillet in green coriander sauce and a milkshake and it tasted really really nice and I was super full. The mash potatoes was so smooth and I like the olive oil dressing on it. I like the vibe there and will surely visit again.

a year agoA pretty chilled restaurant in Victoria Island Lagos! Had dinner with my friends and here’s my overall experience! The service was average, our food took about 15mins to come out! I had a passion fruit daiquiri but it was below average, tasted too watered down, I didn’t like that. I had bbq wings for starters and it was very tasty and my main dish was mashed potato with salmon which was also nice! The ambience is very cozy especially at night but the lighting is not very picture or video friendly. Lastly, the price and I would say it’s slightly expensive by my own standards! The bill for 4 people was over #200,000, overall it wasn’t worth the price! Would I recommend? Hardly.. Would I visit again? No! Nothing special

a year agoNice place. Lovely ambiance. Food was a bit pricey but didn’t taste bad. The lighting there is not so great. You should take extra light if you want to take nice pictures. Our waitress was friendly and nice. Not a bad experience
