“In the foothills of the mist-shrouded Virunga Massif nestles beautiful Sabyinyo. Here, the true spirit of conservation and rehabilitation can be felt everywhere: In our community-inspired luxurious lodge, our bountiful organic gardens, upliftment projects, abundant wildlife and, of course, the star attraction: Volcanoes National Park’s beloved mountain gorillas, and curious golden monkeys, among many others.”- Sabyinyo

2 months agoWe stayed here for 3 nights for gorilla and golden monkey trekking. The views from the property are stunning. The rooms are luxurious and so cozy with wood burning fireplaces. The staff is amazing! They really do everything to make your stay warm and welcoming. Food and drinks were great. Absolutely amazed at how clean they get your hiking boots clean after trekking. Loved the warm water bottles provided in the bed at night. Definitely recommend staying here!!

7 months ago5 stars is such an understatement to describe this amazing secluded lodge located close to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. We stayed for just two nights in one of the spacious well-appointed villas set apart from the other half dozen across the mountaintop property with majestic views. Like all the visitors, we were in Rwanda for the gorilla trekking-hike up the steep slopes to visit the elusive mountain gorillas made famous by Dian Fossey and her epic book (and later movie)Gorillas in the Mist. In addition to the top flight accommodations and scenic vistas the real standout was the warm and caring staff who treat you like family, feeding and caring for you in so many small and large ways-we didn’t want to leave! A special shout out to our “butler” Pacifique who lit warm fires in our room, came to wake us up, kept things tidy and even did laundry and washed the thick mud off our hiking boots all as a part of the routine service provided at this all inclusive property. Yes, all cocktails at the bar, snacks, breakfast lunch and dinner were included plus wine. A wilderness representative even met us at the airport, assisted us with the visa process and helped us learn about the country. Can’t say enough good things about this one of a kind spot with its talented team.

a year agoStaying at Wilderness Sabyinyo Lodge was an experience like no other—truly the best place I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the warmest welcome, complete with a beautiful song and dance that set the tone for the extraordinary stay ahead. The staff at Wilderness Sabyinyo Lodge is nothing short of exceptional; every hotel should aspire to their level of friendliness and attention to detail. Each guest is treated like a five-star VIP from the moment they arrive, and the personalized service is truly something special. Everyone knows your name, which adds a wonderful personal touch that makes you feel uniquely valued. The lodge itself is immaculate, boasting stunning views and a serene atmosphere. The hiking trail offers a perfect way to explore the natural beauty surrounding the lodge, and the fresh garden where they grow all of their food locally is a testament to the lodge's commitment to sustainability and quality. A special shout-out to our personal butler, Felicien, who made our stay even more memorable with his impeccable service. We’d also like to thank Peter, Eric, Salina, and the many other wonderful staff members who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. If you’re looking for a place that combines luxury, breathtaking views, and the most welcoming staff, Sabyinyo Lodge is it. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

a year agoWe had an incredible stay here. The staff are exceptional. Everyone is so warm and truly made us feel at home. The food was delicious! The rooms are gorgeous and are tucked away to feel very secluded and private, as if you are the only ones on the property. The fireplace in the room was so cosy up to relax in front of when it got chilly outside after sundown. We came back from one of our gorilla treks soaking wet and covered in mud. I have no idea how they managed to get our boots dry and clean ready for our hike the next morning but they did. Everything about this place was just wow, so much that I teared up when it was time to leave.

a year agoThere really isn't anything to not love about this lodge. The staff are simply amazing, some of the nicest and best people I've had the pleasure of meeting. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed and you just feel submerged into nature. The food is excellent with a large variety of different items to choose from. As far as gorilla trekking they provide gaiters, pants, jackets, gloves, lunch, backpacks and drinks and make the experience so seamless and easy. I can't say enough good things about Sabyinyo and I will definitely be coming back! 5 star all the way!
