I really liked my staying at Bamboo Village because of the familiar feeling, good service, nice location, beautiful aestethic, various activities and of course the very happy MC guy. Thus, this hotel is not a 5 star standard hotel with luxury or glam. If thats not what you are looking for, I would surely recommend this hotel. The only negative/improvments I could say about this resort would be locked doors to the toilets and better breakfast. When I wanted to eat breakfast around 9:00, most of the food was out for the day, eventhough the breakfast was until 10:00. The prices on the dinner/lunch menu could be a little bit cheaper based on what you get on your plate. Overall, I would say this place is 4/5. With some few improvements it could easily be a 5/5 hotel for me!

Had a terrible experience at Bamboo and do not recommend. We went there for a group trip which had been planned months earlier. A week before the trip they decided to do work on the pool and we couldn’t use the pool for a week till we left. Some staff were rude and very unprofessional. On some days the AC were turned off without informing everyone in the hotel. I spoke with the manager who tried to sound very patronising as well. The road leading to the hotel was flooded (wouldn’t blame them for this) but little or no alternative passages were provided. The breakfast was sub par and we constantly had to make requests for simple things like butter and sugar when they ran out. Was excited to go there but was very happy to leave. I could leave a 0/5 if it was possible.

This place is really nice. The employees are incredibly friendly and will explain or help with any questions you have. You are close to the beach or the main road that connects to basically everything. In this hotel (just like many other in Gambia) you might have to ask yourself for new towels or toilet paper as it can be a little chaotic at times with the service. But everyone is always happy to help you.

BAMBOO VILLAGE HOTEL = This is the hotel in Gambia where we stayed for 8 Nights. The Personals are friendly and helpful, Hotel room is very spacious, clean and the aircon functions freely. One problem was the toilet flash didn't function correctly that the dirt are stocked up every time. What we did was we went to Albert Market to buy a rubber pump to clear up the stocked dirt from the toilet bowl. Then when we left we donated this pump to the Hotel. :-)

Beautiful place with amazingly helpful and accommodating staff. The location is great as it's walking distance to the ocean and many eateries, etc. Love the ambience with ducks, peacocks, rabbits, cats running around freely around you. The pond adds to the serenity of the place. The breakfast is quite complete and the beautiful Canadian manager is so pleasant, it puts all other options to shame!
