Starting with the gallery and I must say I loved all the art work. Art across the world mostly has regional inspiration and the art pieces here really tells a story about Rwanda and what they hold dear. From the paintings of gorillas to the serene landscapes, every painting has a unique story behind it. The founder, Niyo was present when I visited and I must say he is a very charismatic and welcoming host. I love the vision he has using art as a driving force and it is wonderful what his foundation is doing for children in Kigali. Prices of the artworks here are a little on the high side but I believe it is for a charitable cause so it will be worth every dime.
Now to the cafe, wow, I must say the experience was exceptional. Every dish, drink, and pastry I had was artistically splendid. This is one place I will encourage people to try out the food whenever they are in Kigali.
Overall I really loved the experience here. It is one I will cherish for years. You should visit there whenever you're in Kigali. Amazing!
Decided to stop by here and look at a few pieces of art. So glad we did. The pieces were incredible (a little on the high side) but beautiful non the less.
The grounds were clean and neat. I particularly loved the outside space and the spray painted walls.
Had the opportunity to sit at the cafe and have some tea and coffee. It was lovely and peaceful. There were a few people there that were traveling internationally as well. It was good to see this place brings a diverse crowd.
Will certainly return when I’m back in Rwanda.
An absolute gem! So glad our guide took us here when I expressed interest in art. I'm posting a lot of photos which I think tell you much more about this totally charming place than I can write. I was just looking, but if you want to buy some original and authentic art, you will be very glad you came.
Kigali's highest rated art gallery. Artist-owned and run. There are hundreds of meticulous pieces of artwork on display. Entrance is free.
Most are large pieces for large homes and commercial spaces but they can produce on order to any size.
Beautiful space to be for art lovers. The restaurant on site offers great coffee and delectable meals.
Niyo Arts Gallery has been our favorite gallery in Kigali. The place itself is so colourful and beautifully decorated. We spoke to the founders brother who is also an artist and he showed us the area and also the location in the back where many of the artists work. There is a large variety of artwork and everything is so beautiful. We really enjoyed our time here. The cafe is also really nice and serves very tasty food.
