Experience the world renowned Ugandan hospitality amidst unrivaled nature, scenery and serenity in the heart of Kibale rainforest National Park, Uganda’s primates’ paradise and home to over 13 different species of primates and numerous other mammals, butterflies and birds. Primate Lodge Kibale’s principal edge is our location, tucked deep in the forest and right next door to the starting point for Chimpanzee tracking excursion as well as the incredible Chimpanzee Habituation, really, two of the most genuinely breath-taking wildlife experiences on the planet.

All of our nine spacious and en-suite Luxury Cottages, each secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural ‘living in nature’ feel, come complete with 2x Double size Bed or 1x King Size Bed, a sitting area with two comfortable arm chairs, a reading table and an adjoining large veranda with excellent views to the forest. The seven mid-level Forest Cottages are private and en-suite with spacious bathrooms, 2x Twin size Beds or 1x King Size Bed as well as a spacious veranda over-looking the rain-forest with lounge chairs. The popular double storied ‘Elephant Banda’ has an upstairs bedroom fitted with a giant King size Bed and a downstairs living room where we can also place a smaller extra bed. As a double occupancy, it is very popular with honeymooners, anniversaries and the ‘hopeless romantics’ who can also enjoy private lounging and dining at the extensive upstairs veranda that seems to go right into the forest.

Other lodge amenities include a spacious dining terrace, a well-stocked bar, complimentary room service, a secluded lounge area with a small library, an evening camp fire, laundry service (at a small fee) as well as free WiFi in the public areas.

As a visiting guest, the experience with the staffs at Primate Lodge and the serenity of the forest was so healing for I a passionate conservationist. We had our meals on time, rooms fixed whenever we moved out and the staffs were always at our pre-disposal whenever we needed them

Good 4 Star Lodge. Really good position as its situation in the heart of the Kadile Forrest. The meeting point for the start of the chimpanzee walk is only a 5min drive away

My wife and I stayed here in July of 2022 for our honeymoon and I'm just now getting around to leaving a review (10 months later). We absolutely loved our stay at the Primate Lodge. We can recommend it with great confidence. The staff was amazing (big shout out to Amanda), the food was incredible, and the lodge is beautiful. Best of all is the location -- right in the middle of the National Park where you are surrounded by all the primates. Such a special place to stay in Uganda. I'm still dreaming about our time at the Primate Lodge and hope we can return at some point in our life. Just incredible. Thank you for having us.

Lovely small lodge in the park right next to the Chimpanzee trek office. Great food, superb service, and comfortable rooms with hot showers and comfortable beds. Private all round. The only negative was they could use a fan for air movement in hot weather.

Each room is beautifully designed with local materials, giving guests a sense of being in a traditional African setting. The rooms are also equipped with modern amenities such as hot showers, comfortable beds, and Wi-Fi to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay. One of the standout features of Primate Lodge is the excellent service provided by the staff. They are friendly, accommodating and genuinely care about the guests' comfort during their stay. The chefs prepare delicious and healthy meals, with fresh ingredients sourced from the nearby communities. Another highlight of the lodge is its location. It is situated amid lush greenery, making it a perfect place to unwind and relax. You can take a stroll in the nearby forest and spot some of the resident primates or bird-watch, or visit the nearby Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Overall, Primate Lodge is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an authentic African experience, a peaceful environment, and a chance to experience wildlife up close. It is suitable for honeymooners, families or solo-travelers looking for an adventure in the wild, plus it is mindful of environmental conservation. Highly recommended.... Steven Musoke
