Lira Boutique Lodge

I recently visited the Lira Hotel with my partner. Upon arrival, we were asked to pay R700 before even entering restaurant, which felt like we were being forced to spend that amount just to dine. The food portions were small, and we had to order additional drinks just to meet the R700 requirement. On top of that, the hygiene in the kitchen is concerning; I don’t want to scare off customers, but it’s important that your kitchen is kept clean and free from insects. That said, the waiters were amazing—very professional—and the place itself is beautiful with a great view. However, management should seriously review these aspects of their business, as I won’t be visiting again.

The place was nice, the stuff were amazing . I had an issue and it was solved perfectly. But the boat time? They told us it’s 30min a for us to only ride 20minutes. You have such a great setting just work on a few things

The service at Lira was satisfactory, and the ambiance was excellent. However, many menu items, such as oxtail and fries, were unavailable. We opted for the shiya nyama option instead, but the beef was dry, and there was no sauce provided. Despite this, the overall experience was decent. The service, restaurant environment, scenic view, and the quality of wine were all enjoyable.ohhh, minimum spend at the restaurant is R350 pp.

Made a booking and had to unfortunately cancel before I could go, I cancelled a month prior and I was still legible for 100% deposit back. I am writing this a month later and I have not received a cent of my deposit. They are sending me from pillar to post, I have emailed and Whatsapped them but all I get is "we are having technical issues" or "your refund is being processed". The view is great, clean and quite. Quite a long drive from the main road.
