Addis in Cape

The food is ok, a special experience to try Ethiopian food. The restaurant itself is quite dark so you can’t really see but with a glass or two you may feel fine lol. The location is good so very easy to get to. The downside was the service - staff are generally friendly but you kinda feel like they try to sell you the expensive set and if you don’t order as much their service drops. Some of them can get inattentive especially when they feel like they’re already not going to get as much tips (since you didn’t order as much) It’s very expensive with the portion given, and we waited quite a while for the main dish too (prob a norm as there’s always a wait at the restaurants in cape down). Come for the experience if you wanna try Ethiopian food and don’t mind the price.

Vibey Ethiopian restaurant. Awesome traditional decor, dishes served in traditional plates. Very cool experience. We had the mixed platter, to get a variety of foods, and tasted some of the teas. Loved the experience.

Addis was a wonderful Ethiopian dining experience and some of the best food we tried in cape town! We got the mixed platter, wine and the coffee and it was all so wonderful. The food was incredibly fresh and truly so delicious. Service was excellent and our server took the time to explain everything to us - he was so genuinely happy to guide us through our first Ethiopian food experience. The atmosphere is very colorful with a multi-floor seating arrangement and open kitchen that greets you as you walk in. The coffee is heavenly, too. Highly recommend - we cannot stop talking about this place and all of the new flavors and foods we were able to try!

I recently had the pleasure of trying Ethiopian food for the first time, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The standout feature of my visit was undoubtedly the waiter, who was not only incredibly friendly but also very knowledgeable about the cuisine. He took the time to explain the various dishes and even recommended some of his favorites, which made my first encounter with Ethiopian food all the more enjoyable. It’s clear that he truly cares about sharing this unique culinary experience with newcomers like myself. His enthusiasm for the food made it easier to dive into unfamiliar flavors and textures.

Loved the experience from the begging to the very end. Best Ethiopian i’ve tried. Good local drinks. Linga helped us having a wonderful night. Super recomendable !
